Waiting on Him
“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.” – Psalm 37:7
Stillness doesn’t come easy when our hearts are full of questions and our lives are marked by waiting. Whether we’re longing for breakthrough, healing, direction, or answers, it’s natural to want to rush God’s timing. But Psalm 37:7 gently calls us to a different posture – to be still and to wait patiently before the Lord.
This kind of stillness isn’t passive; it’s deeply active. It’s the stillness of trust, of surrender, and of quiet confidence in who God is. It’s choosing to pause our striving and lean into His presence, even when we don’t yet see the outcome.
Waiting patiently doesn’t mean doing nothing – it means doing the most important thing: staying close to the Father. In stillness, our perspective shifts. We remember that God is faithful, His timing is perfect, and His plans are worth the wait.
Today, let this verse be an invitation. Still your anxious thoughts. Release the urge to rush ahead. Sit with the Lord. Let Him renew your hope and quiet your soul. Trust that in the waiting, He is working – and in the stillness, He is near.
